Salary: £80,000-£110,000

F5 are delighted to be working with a market leading SpaceTech organisation operating at the forefront of complex, mission-critical engineering programmes.

As part of continued growth, they are looking to hire a Software Solutions Architect to join their expanding software function. This is a key position, responsible for ensuring seamless integration between internal teams, software solutions, and third-party technologies.

Acting as the architectural glue across the business, you will help define and maintain robust solution architectures, ensuring systems remain scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned to operational objectives.

You’ll work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and external suppliers to drive solution design, cloud adoption, governance, and roadmap delivery across a highly technical environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Software Solutions Architect, Solution Architect, or similar senior technical role within complex engineering environments.
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, space, advanced manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong systems-thinking capability with experience designing and maintaining end-to-end solution architectures.
  • Experience integrating multiple systems, suppliers, and technologies across organisational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks, governance processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience designing solutions with security, privacy, resilience, and testing requirements in mind.
  • Strong cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or similar platforms, including service selection, migration planning, and cost optimisation.
  • Ability to develop and communicate technical roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Hold, or be eligible for, SC Security Clearance.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with distributed systems, real-time systems, or mission-critical software.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with APIs, integration platforms, and data architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and Secure by Design principles.
  • Experience working with third-party technology vendors and suppliers.
  • Understanding of technical cost modelling and business case development.
