Location: Reading (2-3 days a week)

Role: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £55,000-£90,000 + Benefits

F5 are delighted to be partnering with one of the biggest Technology Consultancies in the UK, an award-winning business that works with major organisations globally.

They are seeking numerous Site Reliability Engineers with experience in OpenShift to join a Public Sector customer of theirs, working on one of the biggest CNI projects in the country. There are multiple opportunities at Mid, Senior, and Principal levels.

The end-client site is in Reading, and candidates are expected to travel here on a hybrid basis, 2-3 days a week (especially for more senior candidates). For mid level candidates, there is more flexibility here.

There is some on-call expected, however this is compensated for and on a rota basis.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Hands-on SRE experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes, including troubleshooting key Operators (ServiceMesh, ODF, ACS, ACM, AMQ).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and multi‑cloud/hybrid environments.
  • Practical experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo.
  • Proficient with IaC (Kustomize, Helm), scripting (Bash, Python), and GitOps pipelines (Tekton, ArgoCD, FluxCD).
  • Growth mindset with willingness to learn new skills.
  • Secure‑environment experience are beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with EDB Postgres for enterprise-grade databases.
  • Any familiarity with Red Hat ACM/ACS and networking tools like Submariner.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
  • For Senior and Principal level candidates, Project Leadership, Mentorship and “best-practices” promotion are key.

Because of the environments you will be working in, applicants need to ideally hold active SC Clearance, however SC-eligible candidates will also be considered. This means you need to hold full rights to work in the UK, have been based in the UK for the last 5 years, and have not left for longer than 28 days+ consecutively in that time.
