Job Title: Principal Platform Engineer – Contract
Location: Sheffield, Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Contract Length: 6 months+
Day Rate: £500-600 p/d
IR35: Inside (must go through Umbrella)

F5 are delighted to be partnering with a Global Technology Consultancy supporting a Global Financial Services customer.
They are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with expertise in GCP and Kubernetes, (specifically GKE).
The position requires 3 days per week onsite in Sheffield with an immediate start.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong Kubernetes and cloud‑native experience, including building, configuring, and extending Kubernetes platforms
- Experience with automation and infrastructure scripting (e.g. Terraform, Python, Go)
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD and continuous testing pipelines
- Proficiency with configuration and packaging tools (Helm, Kustomize, kpt)
- Experience with Kubernetes‑native CD tools (FluxCD, ArgoCD)
- Experience implementing observability using logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, GCP Monitoring)
- Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments
- Experience operating in highly regulated environments (e.g. Financial Services)
- Relevant certifications desirable (GCP Professional, CKA/CKS)
